Taster, please! To protect the beautiful Queen of Egypt from poisoning, every dish is tested in advance by the royal taster. And this precaution seems to be quite appropriate, because a cake presented in the name of the indomitable Gauls turns out to be poisoned.
Sneaky treats
But it is not the Gauls who are behind the dastardly deed, but the villain Pyradonis. In order to prevent his competitor Numerobis from completing Cleopatra’s temple in time, he does not even shrink from offering the queen a poisoned cake. But fortunately the indomitable Gauls see through his devious plan and have a nip of magic potion as an antidote.
Replay one of the most famous scenes of the Asterix comics and invent your own new role-playing adventures with the playset Pyradonis’ vergiftete Torte (71269). We were able to unpack the set from PLAYMOBIL and present this to you in our unboxing.
In the well-known scene from the movie Asterix and Cleopatra, we find ourselves in the kitchen of the envious architect Pyradonis. He has prepared a nasty trap for Asterix, Obelix and their friends.
Pyradonis‘ mean plan
Pyradonis has decided with his helper Schraubzieris to bake a poisoned cake and send it in the name of the Gauls to the King of the Nile. But Asterix, Obelix & Getafix see through the perfidious plan. With the set of PLAYMOBIL this scene can now be replayed up to the taster.
The Pyradonis’ vergiftete Torte (71269) set includes our hero Asterix as well as the villains Pyradonis and Schraubzieris and Cleopatra’s taster. In addition to these four figures, the 24-piece Asterix toy set also includes the cake with two removable pieces and a serving table. The figure of Asterix is also equipped with a sword and a bottle of magic potion. Pyradonis and his helper have a torch and a purse at the ready. The taster is armed with a saber.
The adventures of the popular Gauls continue: Asterix and Obelix travel to faraway Egypt and cause a stir between pyramids and palaces with their superpowers.
Published in 1965, the comic novel by Uderzo and Goscinny is one of the most popular editions among Asterix fans and has already been filmed twice. In 1968, the legendary animated film was released and in 2002, the live-action adaptation with well-known French actors ensured ringing box offices.
Of pyramids and mishaps
A contest ensues between the Egyptian ruler Cleopatra and the Roman general Julius Caesar. Cleopatra wants to outdo Caesar. Her people could build a magnificent palace in Alexandria within three months – on a scale that Rome has never seen before. She gives the order to Numerobis, her first master builder.
If he is successful, she showers him with gold. If not, she throws him to the crocodiles. Numerobis is desperate, as he considers this to be absolutely hopeless. His only option: he needs the help of the strong and invincible Gauls Asterix and Obelix and their magic potion, which gives superhuman strength.
Now young and long-time fans can re-enact the story of the journey to Egypt of the two famous Gauls in PLAYMOBIL format. Of course, the two perpetrators of the predicament and united in a true love-hate relationship Caesar and Cleopatra may not be missing. The Numerobis und die Schlacht um den Palast set contains stackable bricks and columns to reenact the construction of the architectural masterpiece.
