IGN hat auf seiner Internetpräsenz einen neuen Trailer zu The Raid 2 veröffentlicht. Der Trailer wurde jedoch bereits wieder von der Seite entfernt, doch was einmal im Internet war verschindet so schnell nicht wieder. Wir haben den Trailer für euch auf YouTube aufgestöbert!
Die Handlung zu The Raid 2 setzt dort an, wo der Vorgänger mit Protagonisten Rama (Iko Uwais) abschloss. Dieser kämpft nun nicht nur gegen korrupte Polizisten, sondern auch um das Wohl seiner Familie und begibt sich als Undercoveragent in ein Gefängnis, um sich in eine mafiöse Organisation einzuschleichen.
Der deutsche Kinostart ist für den 10. Oktober 2014 angesetzt, in anderen Regionen startet der Film bereits Ende März 2014. Seine Premiere feierte The Raid 2 bereits am 21. Januar 2014 auf dem Sundance Film Festival. Regisseur und Drehbuchautor Gareth Evans verspricht uns, dass der Film noch „größer, besser und blutiger“ werden soll. Die ersten Reviews und Trailer bestätigen dieses Ansinnen und wir dürfen uns auf wohl einen der besten Actionfilme freuen.
Handlung (englisch):
He thought it was over. After fighting his way out of a building filled with gangsters and madmen – a fight that left the bodies of police and gangsters alike piled in the halls – rookie Jakarta cop Rama thought it was done and he could resume a normal life. He couldn’t have been more wrong.
Formidable though they may have been, Rama’s opponents in that fateful building were nothing more than small fish swimming in a pond much larger than he ever dreamed possible. And his triumph over the small fry has attracted the attention of the predators farther up the food chain. His family at risk, Rama has only one choice to protect his infant son and wife: He must go undercover to enter the criminal underworld himself and climb through the hierarchy of competing forces until it leads him to the corrupt politicians and police pulling the strings at the top of the heap.
And so Rama begins a new odyssey of violence, a journey that will force him to set aside his own life and history and take on a new identity as the violent offender “Yuda.” In prison he must gain the confidence of Uco – the son of a prominent gang kingpin – to join the gang himself, laying his own life on the line in a desperate all-or-nothing gambit to bring the whole rotten enterprise to an end.
Der erste Teil spielte in den Slums, wo der Untergrundboss Tama Riyadi (Ray Sahetapy) in einem Hochhaus herrscht, welches zu einer uneinnehmbaren Festung umgebaut wurde. Beschützt wird er nicht nur von seinen zwei Leibwächter Mad Dog (Yayan Ruhian) und Andi (Donny Alamsyah), auch die restlichen Bewohner des Hauses sind tödliche Lakaien, die mit allen Wassern gewaschen sind.
Ganz anders sieht es dagegen bei der zwanzigköpfigen Polizeieinheit aus, welche das Haus erstürmen will. Außer Lieutenant Wahyu (Pierre Gruno), Sergeant Jaka (Joe Taslim), Dagu (Eka „Piranha“ Rahmadia) und Rama besteht das SWAT-Team überwiegend aus unerfahrenen Anfängern.
